Vacilando Survey Results

Last week I asked you guys to share your thoughts and ideas with me about Vacilando Quilting. Honestly, It was pretty scary to open myself and my business up to criticism (from strangers and not-so-strangers on the internet, no less). As a someone who is a self-taught quilter and has never run a business before this, imposter syndrome regularly creeps in and I brace myself for all the negative comments and non-constructive criticism. Fortunately, that rarely happens and I'm consistently reminded of how supportive you guys are and feel so fortunate to have such awesome customers, clients and followers.

But unwarranted fears aside, I was more excited to get your honest feedback about who you are, what you like and what you want from Vacilando. For the past two years, I've just been throwing things out there and seeing what sticks and so far, it's worked out okay. But the business has grown like crazy in just the past couple months and I want to make sure it's growing in the right direction. I want to make beautiful, useful things that you want to buy and can afford to buy, because otherwise, I'm just creating for creation's sake. And while the artist in me is cool with that, the designer (not to mention the business owner trying to make a living) in me is not.

The survey ended up being more successful than I could have imagine and the results were really eye-opening to me. Some of it was surprising, some I expected and all of it warmed my little heart so frickin' much - there was nothing but positivity and the kindest words from everyone. Because of all this information I now have, I'll be incorporating your feedback into the decisions I make for Vacilando's future. In the short term, the plan is to hire some outside help so that I can have more time to focus on creating more unique designs and products at more affordable prices in the sizes and styles you guys want the most.
